It’s basically designed to hold up most of the time. The rest of the time, by definition, it won’t.

It’s not even 80/20, just determining the simplest path. If you have sound logic, you’ll find the simplest path anyway, but why would you accept that by default? It also assumes you know all the paths in order to be able to determine which one is right. Biology is a great example of where it fails because we only know some biology, not all biology. What we don’t understand is quite significant and out of scope.

What did Sherlock Holmes say:

When you have eliminated all which is impossible, then whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth.

I much prefer that way of thinking. It’s not lazy.
